Theresa Himmer received her MFA degree from the School of Visual Arts, New York and holds a Candidate degree (M.Arch equivalent) in Architecture from Aarhus School of Architecture, Denmark. Working between a studio practice and a practice within public space, she has been included in group-shows and created extensive urban installations in Denmark, England and Iceland, her base for almost 5 years. Coming to art through architecture, her practice is grounded in notions of place, site specificity and locational identity. Currently, she is engaged in a commission for site-specific urban installations in the Russian town of Perm and other in Mexico City, while participating in the Independent Study Program of Whitney Museum of American Art.
